Discover British Columbia This Fall

With the perfect crisp fall weather, we can no longer postpone the adventures and explorations that are to be had here in British Columbia! The choices are limitless here for active travelers. We have every activity ending in “-ing” imaginable. Biking, camping, climbing, caving, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, ziplining, bungee jumping, and the list goes on forever. We will try to narrow down the list to just 3 activities and locations to explore while in B.C.!

Skydiving over Okanagan Valley

It is never too late to check skydiving off of life’s bucketlist! This skydive offers a view that is so breathtaking over Vernon, B.C., divers come from all over the world. As you cruise 13,000ft in altitude you’ll receive a guided scenic tour of the Okanagan Valley and your jump will take place between the beautiful Okanagan Lake and the turquoise waters of Kalamalka Lake. You’ll witness the snow-capped peaks of the Monashee Mountain range as well as the local ski resorts, and will even soar over the colorful orchards and vineyards that define the Okanagan Valley. Reluctant weekend warriors and thrill seekers alike will consider this a memory for the grandkids.

Off-Roading & ATVing

For those that prefer the road less-traveled. Some of BC’s most beautiful places can only be found by off-roading to the remote lakes and waterfalls, and on to the flowering meadows overlooking the mountain ranges afar. There are many places to off-road and rent ATVs in B.C., but Whistler is considered one of the prime areas. Several companies in Whistler offer drives through the Blackcomb mountains, or through the nearby Callaghan Valley. They will be tours including delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Typically an evening salmon bake will be the grand finale of the day! There are a multitude of options for your off-roading day. Maybe you’d like to spend half of the day ATVing and the other half rafting the wild Kicking Horse River! Well, in Golden, BC you can do just that. These activities aren’t for the faint hearted, but we know our R.V. readers are anything but.

Whale Watching

We’ll finish off our recommended activities with something still exhilarating, but less taxing on the heart! Whale watching is a special experience for the entire family. There are only 2 weeks left until the end of this year’s whale-watching opportunities, so it’s time to go on a quick venture! Tours leave from major cities like Vancouver and Victoria, along with a few locations in Northern BC and off the north and west coasts of Vancouver Island. Keep an eye out for Orcas, humpback whales, and Pacific grey whales all in their natural habitats!
